More than one-hundred-and-twenty years ago, the Piazza family began selling fresh seafood in the markets of Sicily. The family's reputation for fairness and quality products was unsurpassed by anyone. In 1904, Paul Piazza immigrated to the United States, specifically Southern Louisiana, to continue the family business in the "Land of Opportunity." His grandson, Sal Piazza, Sr., started working in the business as a young teen in the French Quarter of New Orleans and quickly built a reputation of his own as a hard working, honest seafood businessman.

In keeping with tradition, Sal Piazza, Jr. started at an early age on the shrimp docks of the Gulf South, learning the seafood industry from every aspect. Finally in 1984, 80 years after his great-grandfather Paul came to America, Sal Jr. formed a new company which concentrates on the importation of the very finest seafoods from around the world.
